Enhance Healthcare Communication with GD’s Newest Forms and ED Alerts

RIDGEFIELD, NJ – September 22, 2022: GD, a health-tech company specializing in communication solutions that help emergency medical services (EMS) and hospitals, has recently created a variety of new configurable forms and ED alerts for both its CAREpoint Workstation and e-Bridge Communication Platform. Hospitals and EMS are often not alike operationally and require configurable solutions that can be adapted to best fit their specific needs. Unlike most other systems, GD’s innovative solutions are highly configurable, enabling healthcare communications, forms, and alerts to be created based on local or regional requirements, stakeholder input, quality, and team needs, making simply seamless patient care possible.

Recent CAREpoint and e-Bridge alerts and forms include:

BLS Report Training Test Alert
Psych Report Cardiac Arrest/ECMO
ALS Report Feedback Request
Adult Arrest Incident Photo
MVI/MCI Blood Bank
Critical Change Code MER (Endovascular)
Trauma Activation Request and many more!

Configurable Forms and ED Alerts in Action

Melissa Carter, the Pre-Hospital Care Coordinator for Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA, has experienced firsthand how configurable GD’s CAREpoint systems are. A member of GD’s implementation team showed her an example form for STEMI and said, “‘Looking at this, what do you need? What can I take out? What do you need added?’ He was able to personalize it to our facility for what we needed,” says Carter. Ultimately, they configured forms and alerts for STEMI, Trauma, and Stroke with their two CAREpoint systems.

Bonnie Kincaid, Executive Director of Oakland County Medical Control Authority (OCMCA) in Oakland County, MI, agrees that “with GD, the ability to design our own forms and have what we want on the screen pop up is so valuable.” OCMCA is using e-Bridge and CAREpoint Workstations for many alerts and forms for telehealth configurability, including STEMI; Stroke; Trauma Activation Request; OB Emergency; Refusal; Pronounce Death; Priority 1, 2, and 3; Transport Call Back (using the e-Bridge live call back feature); Medical Direction; MCI Declaration; MCI Transport Notice and Incident Photo.

One Tennessee hospital educator describes designing trauma alerts “so that our personal trauma criteria is built into the alert [and] the dispatcher can say…why it is a level 2 based on our criteria… That configurability [is] key to collecting that data.” They are using configured forms and ED alerts for Incoming EMS, STEMI, Stroke, Code MER, Trauma (levels 1, 2, 3) OB (levels 1, 2) Blood Bank Alerts, Sepsis Alert (intra-hospital), and Trauma (inpatient Code).
