“We wanted to utilize e-Bridge for all of online medical control (OMC) because we had to contact the physician for every patient contact. We started with a simple, straightforward workflow. From there we added the direct to cath lab workflow, which was a bit more complex because it includes interventional cardiology and security in addition to the OMC physician. We still made sure to keep the workflow simple so that the communication was clear and easy for the two providers in the back of the ambulance with a critically ill patient” said Alex Rosario, Clinical Supervisor at HUMC EMS. 

“The e-Bridge program is supported by front-line team members and department heads across all teams. So much so, that other specialty teams like ECMO and the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) requested workflows for their patients. We’re even adding a general Transfer Center workflow so that we can connect the receiving team with the transport team. This keeps the communication on recorded lines while also showing the real-time ETA of the ambulance” said Dionne Huggins, Paramedic Manager.
