General Devices’ president Curt Bashford has been invited to speak at this year’s IWCE (International Wireless Communications Expo) in Las Vegas. Along with Kevin McGinnis of FirstNet and the National Association of State EMS Officials, Curt will speak on “Connected Healthcare: Future of Wireless in Medicine” in the morning session on Thursday, March 14, 2013.
Held this year in Las Vegas from March 11-15, IWCE is the authoritative annual event for communications technology in the working world. Industry professionals from government, public safety, transportation, utilities and other enterprises gather together at IWCE to share expertise and see the latest in effective and efficient communications systems.
According to Bashford, “There is now a convergence of technology, in the form of wireless broadband data, powerful mobile devices and telemedicine applications, with new healthcare demands to reduce costs while improving patient care.” He continues, ” This new paradigm creates both opportunities and challenges for Emergency Medical Services, Community Paramedicine and hospital Emergency Medicine. I’m looking forward to discussing some exciting new tools available to the IWCE community that address these needs.”
