General Devices and Zoll Medical Corporation partner for improved communications & information management

On July 5th, 2005 General Devices and Zoll Medical Corporation announced an agreement under which the Zoll M Series™ Monitor/Defibrillator will be interoperable with the General Devices’ CAREpoint™ EMS Workstation and Rosetta™ family of data translators and communications interfaces. Users will be able to choose from a variety of communications means (cell phones, UHF, VHF & other radios) to send directly to the CAREpoint EMS Workstation or other systems.

“The principal goal of General Devices is to provide improvements in interoperability, reliability and speed when sending physiologic monitoring information from the field to hospitals and to improve the ability of hospital personnel to utilize this data. We are very pleased to be working with Zoll, a recognized leader of therapeutic and diagnostic devices, to make the best use of new technologies to improve patient care and set the stage for the implementation of new and advanced technologies” commented Michael Smith, President of General Devices.
